When I started Pilates, with Nicola, a year ago I had little to no sensation in my feet or legs and was having to relearn how to walk due to significant nerve damage in my lower back. A year on, 70% of my leg and feet sensation is back. Some sensation came back during a Pilates class! Also, I just completed a 10 mile hike, without any pain symptoms and I truly believe my recovery is going so well because of Pilates with Nicola. During the classes Nicola gives helpful advice regarding the types of stretches and strengthening moves so, for example, during my recent hike I was able to do stretches, such as The Mermaid, to stretch out my lower back in order to avoid it tightening. I feel in control of my body again and I know I’m getting stronger every week. Nicola’s classes, I believe, have significantly contributed to an improvement in my quality of life and wellbeing and I would highly highly recommend her classes.
